Our Vision and Purpose

Our church is committed to the vision that with our help, God is building better lives, better families a better Brampton and beyond!  and we want to align ourselves with what God is doing.

Given that vision, North Bramalea has adopted a new purpose or mission statement: Our purpose is to enable everyday people to grow in The Way of Jesus and to follow the living God out into the community.

We live out this purpose through these means:

  • worshipping
  • personal transformation
  • building a caring community
  • reaching out to Brampton
  • strengthening families
  • offering hope.

In November 2008 we adopted some very important mission principles to guide our work:

All of our ministries need to have an inner and an outer direction--inward to ourselves as a community of believers and outward to our neighbours.

North Bramalea wants to become a church that reflects the diversity of Brampton.

Leadership development will be part of all of our ministries.

Our space will be used to embody the vision: to welcome people into a life-transforming encounter with God and to follow God out into the community

Becoming a fully formed follower of Christ

Once someone decides to follow Jesus what DOES that life look like? We discovered that there are many people coming to churches – both those who are new to the faith and those who have been there for years – who really aren't sure what it means practically speaking to follow Jesus. So we prayerfully designed a worship series that we first launched January 2014. This series we called BULLSEYE because this was the target we hoped people would decide to “aim for” with their spiritual lives. The following 6 topics were the "targets" our team came up with:

  1. Spiritual Practices (prayer, scripture, time with God) (Romans 12:1-2)
  2. Worship Together Weekly (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  3. Authentic Community (Acts 2:42-47)
  4. Serving Others (Mark 10:45; 1 Cor 12)
  5. Give Generously (Proverbs 3:9-10; 2 Cor 9)
  6. Sharing Christ (Romans 10:11-17)

We decided to create a survey to check in on how we were doing in our life together around these targets. You can find the results of that survey done here.
